On Monday 30th October 2017, No 24 (City of Adelaide) Squadron exercised their right to Freedom of Entry by marching through the City of Adelaide with swords drawn, drum beating, band playing and the Colours flying. On 7th May 1951, No 24 Squadron’s association with the City of Adelaide was formally recognised by granting the Squadron permission to be designated as the No 24 (City of Adelaide) Squadron. The right to Freedom of Entry to the City of Adelaide was bestowed upon on the 28th April 1979. No 24 (City of Adelaide) Squadron has only exercised their right to Freedom of Entry on two other occasions, in 1989 and 1994.
