LAC Timothy Day visits his Great Grandfather's grave in France (1.20 mins)
Soon after arriving in France to participate in Anzac Day 2018 commemorative activities on the Western Front, Leading Aircraftman Timothy Day visited the grave of his Great Grandfather, the late Private John Mooney, who was killed on the Western Front of the First World War and is buried at the Vaulx Hill Cemetery near Bapaume. Leading Aircraftman Day is a member of Australia’s Federation Guard and will be part of the Catafalque Party during the Anzac Day Dawn Service at Villers-Bretonneux. 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Villers-Bretonneux and of the end of the Great War, and is the final year in the Australian Government’s four-year-long Centenary of Anzac commemorative program.
