International engagement at Bradshaw Field Training Area  (1.14 mins)

During Ex DSM19, simulated target systems have been set up at identified locations associated with the developing scenarios. The target systems in use resemble simulated missile systems, inflatable weapons systems or vehicle convoys and all represent threat systems that the participating aircrew will seek to identify or avoid in relation to their mission objectives. The simulated target systems are based at Bradshaw Field Training Area (BFTA) and as well as being placed on the range, can be positioned in public areas. Positioning the systems on public areas adds to the realism of the scenario by having systems at differing locations during the course of the exercise representing the relocation that occurs in real events. The Royal Air Force (RAF) have brought their Skyguard radar to be used as a training target for the duration of Ex DSM19.
