The Royal Australian Air Force is making history at RAAF Amberley this month as it operates the Heron Remotely-Piloted Aircraft for the first time from a major Australian base. For two weeks the Heron is taking off from RAAF Amberley and transiting through military airspace alongside other aircraft. The Heron is flown by Air Force with fully qualified military pilots who have extensive experience on both manned and remotely piloted aircraft.
