1 Squadron is participating in Exercise Thai Boomerang 2019, a bi-lateral fighter exercise between the Royal Thai Air Force and the Royal Australian Air Force at Korat Air Base, Thailand. The exercise will expose 1 Squadron to Dissimilar Air Combat Training and Large Force Employment operations in the South East area of operations, and further enhance the relationship between Australia and Thailand. The culmination of the two-week exercise in which the F/A-18F Super Hornets from the Royal Australian Air Force’s No.1 Squadron participated. The purpose of the exercise, was for the Thai and Australian pilots to work together in planning and conducting real-life missions to prepare them for future coalition operations.
